My aunt’s star soup is always the first course of every family Christmas dinner and it’s always a hit. I made it for my daughter for the first time and she won’t stop talking about it. Apparently, it’s now one of her top 3 favorite soups 😂

Recipe

Ingredients (10 Servings)

2 QT CHICKEN BROTH
2 QT WATER
3 CUBES BEEF BOUILLON
1 LB GROUND PORK
1 LB STELLINE PASTA (STAR SHAPED)
1 LARGE ONIONS, CUT HALF AND THE OTHER HALF IN THICK SLICES
1 TBSP ONION POWDER
1/2 TBSP GARLIC POWDER
1 TSP PEPPER
1/2 TBSP SUGAR
1 TBSP FISH SAUCE

Instructions

Cook pasta according to instructions.

Add chicken broth, water, beef bouillon and half onion to a large pot. Bring to boil then lower heat to medium low and simmer 15 minutes.

Mix the ground meat with fish sauce, sugar, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. Form the mixture in small bite size balls and add them to the pot with the sliced onions. Bring to boil until all meatballs are cooked.

Adjust soup to taste if needed by adding fish sauce. Add pasta to a bowl and ladle soup and meatballs over. Serve with Tabasco, Maggi and pepper.
